    This is the title, under which an incentive has been received from the Andalusian Innovation and Development Agency (IDEA), of the Junta de Andalucía for an amount of € 511,750.21, 80% co-financed by the European Union to through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to carry out the Project Acquisition of capital goods for expansion of capacity and diversification of production (601N1700081) with the aim of achieving a more competitive business fabric.

    Bandesur wants to remain at the forefront of new trends in fresh food consumption, therefore, it must adapt to the market and expand its range of containers through new thermoforming machines and molds, at the same time that the processes to improve competitiveness.


    At Bandesur we are very committed to Research and Development (R&D). Since 2013, we have been involved in numerous R&D projects, formed by high-level business consortia and taking part in highly demanded state calls.

    CIEN Strategic 2015 (IDI-20150606) (Sep. 2015 - Aug. 2019): "Research and experimental development of new healthier foods and advanced packaging - AVANZA-S". Development of biodegradable foamed packaging, packaging that helps extend the shelf life of food and more sustainable packaging.

    FEDER INNTERCONECTA 2015 (ITC-20151005) (Sep. 2015 - Dec. 2017): “Manufacture of containers for the food sector from XPS and PET composites with improved properties through high-efficiency thermoforming - EFI-PACK ". Development of more sustainable thermoformed containers from XPS and PET composites, using efficient molds that reduce waiting times and facilitate the placing on the market of new containers, making a more ecological and sustainable production system.

    2015 Collaboration Challenges (RTC-2015-4359-2) (Jul. 2015-Jul. 2017): "High performance and sustainable foamed plastic packaging for safer food packaging - SOSTFOAM". Development of two new ranges of packaging: one for microwaves and the other biodegradable and compostable.

    INTERCONECTA (ITC-20131023) (Apr / 13 - Mar / 15): "Preservation of highly perishable food products through active packaging incorporating natural compounds from the olive industry - ACTIVEOLIVE". Development of a new active packaging system incorporating natural antioxidants from the olive industry to preserve highly perishable foods, keys to the Andalusian economy, favoring a new sustainable food industry model.

    INNPACTO (IPT-2011-1662-060000) (Apr / 11 - Dec / 14): "Active and biodegradable packaging of fresh mushrooms and fresh meat - ACTIBIOPACK". Development of active packaging systems from natural resources (starch and PLA), for the packaging of fresh foods (meat and mushrooms, due to their economic importance), which allows increasing their storage period, maintaining their organoleptic and nutritional throughout the entire storage period.

    CDTI "Technological Cooperation between SMEs" (IDI-20091059) (2010-2012): "Active and biodegradable packaging systems that improve food safety and quality - PLASTICONS". Development of new packaging from biopolymers that improve the shelf life of packaged foods.

    Our R & D department is open to any collaboration of new research projects to improve and satisfy current consumer demands.

    Biodegradable Tray

    Bandesur, committed to the environment, launches a new range of biodegradable foamed plastic containers suitable for use in contact with food.

    The added value of these trays is that they biodegrade in the right atmosphere, when they come into contact with organic matter, turning into biomass, without polluting the environment.

    With the biodegradable foam tray, it is possible to increase the speed of biodegradation in a short period of time, compared to that of traditional plastics.

    Another of its characteristics is that this tray can have a second life, it is 100% recyclable.

    Antimicrobial Tray

    Bandesur, committed to food safety, launches a new range of antimicrobial foamed plastic containers on the market.

    This type of packaging is characterized in that the pathogens: Listeria monocytogenes, E. Coli, and Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA, in English) are not capable of reproducing and, therefore, do not grow on its surface.

    Bandesur has received a certification from an external laboratory, in which the total inhibition (99%) of the growth of the aforementioned pathogens is certified.

    Another of its characteristics is that this tray can have a second life, it is 100% recyclable.

    Bandesur, committed to food safety, offers a product that inhibits the growth of Listeria monocytogenes, E. Coli and MRSA on its surface.
